Welcome to my New Year’s resolution progress series.
This will be the review for the first week (05/01/15-12/01/15) and the resolutions for the second week (12/01/15 – 19/01/15)
I will be setting small goals for me to achieve throughout the week in order to achieve my bigger and main goals (which you can find over here). Every week I shall review how well I did and what I can do to improve and perhaps you can learn new tips and tricks to help YOU achieve your goals.
REVIEW FOR 05/01-12/01;
Where do I start? 😛
It wasn’t an absolute success, to be honest. I did not achieve everything I set myself to and that is OK.
Usually it takes a while to figure out what works and what doesn’t and your own limitations. And that is my point with these weekly resolutions. I get to test myself and learn new things.
Progress is still progress, regardless of how it is presented to you.
Let’s review what were my goals for the first week;
- Spend 2 hrs on my English teaching certificate course. (Goal: 20) 2 HRS (DID NOT ACCOMPLISH)
- Study 58-60 pages of my astrophysics course. (Goal: 2) 15 HRS (I DID 2 HRS)
- Study 20 pages of my neurophysics course. (Goal: 3) 3 HRS (DID NOT ACCOMPLISH)
- Prepare all my meals in advance for the day. (Goal : 1) 4 HR (I DID MOST, BUT TOOK ME A BIT LONGER THAN 4 HRS, I WOULD SAY 6 HRS)
- Write 2 blog posts. (Goal: 17) 1-2 HRS (I DID WRITE THEM, BUT FORGOT TO POST THEM, SO THEY ARE UP NOW)
- Update few more swatches. (Goal: 17) 1-2 HRS (I DID NOT DO THAT, BUT CAUGHT UP ON IT AND WILL POST THEM)
- Film a review (if weather condition permits) (Goal: 17) 5-6 HRS (WEATHER CONDITIONS DID SUCK, SO DID NOT ACHIEVE IT)
- Go request a hospital document I procrastinate. (Goal: 16) 3 HRS (OMG, HOW CAN IT BE SO HARD TO DO? I DIDN’T DO IT )
- 1 yoga session (Goal: 6) 1 HR (NOPE, DID NOT DO THAT)
- Go for 30 min walks in the morning (Goal: 18) 3,5 HRS (I THINK I DID MY QUOTA IN 1 DAY, LOL. I DID NOT SUCK AS MUCH ON THIS ONE, BUT IT WASN’T MORNING PER SE)
- Spend 1 hr learning Finnish (Goal: 21) 1 HR (NOPE)
- Spend 1 hr learning Navajo (Goal: 19) 1 HR (BIG OLE’ NOPE)
- To not miss any training sessions, even if that means doing less, still doing. (Goal: 1) 8,5 HRS (I ACTUALLY DID THIS :O )
TOTAL TIME SPENT IN SELF-INVESTMENT: 28 HRS
I actually need to improve that big time.
So for this week, I have learned;
- Do not pre-schedule the studying time. I do not follow through and only feel guilty. Instead decide to study at 1500 everyday, since I do better in afternoons (not too excited like in the mornings nor too tired like in the evenings)
- Prioritise better (which I will get back in a moment)
- Learn a language in a coffee shop / house. Usually I feel very relaxed in coffee houses and spending 1-2 hrs per week in one sounds reasonable.
- Schedule the yoga session in a day that I am off from the gym. Otherwise it can feel mentally too much (walking in the morning, yoga in the afternoon, gym in the evening…makes me feel drowned)
- Pre-cook vegetables in 1 set for 4-5 days. I have discovered I adore roasted vegetables, but it takes time to peel them / roast them, so doing them every 2 days is NOT reasonable. Instead I should pre-cook for 4-5 days.
- For the document I have been procrastinating to get (from the hospital), I don’t know what to say about it. I just have to frigging do it 😛
- Blogposts; Could write them up in the morning / midday, which is when I love to do them.
- Foundation reviews; unfortunately I do not control the light situation
But I was thinking that I could go film them at my mom’s place, since usually it is hard to film with Muffy around. So I will pack the equipment and bring it there 🙂
- For my english certificate course; schedule it to be done in a morning.
